Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) is pleased to provide high-quality academic and enrichment programs for the summer of 2021 for currently enrolled elementary students. Current health and safety guidelines will be followed for all in-person NMUSD summer programs.

Enrichment Camp (In-Person): July 19 - July 30, 2021

Enrichment Camp is a two-week program for students, 2.5 hours per day:

  • AM Session: 8:30am-11:00am

  • PM Session: 12:30pm-3:00pm

Each student is able to participate in either the AM or PM session and will be assigned to one enrichment focus area for the two-week period (parents will be able to apply for multiple focus areas in order of preference).

Enrichment Camp will be provided in the following focus areas:

  • Arts Camp - instrumental and vocal music, choreography, and hands-on visual art

  • Sports Camp - variety of sports and activities that promote teamwork and sportsmanship

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Camp - hands-on science activities including engineering, robotics, and chess

All enrichment focus areas will be offered at each host site during both sessions. Enrichment Camp activities will be led by NMUSD staff and district partner providers.

There will be one school in each zone that hosts Enrichment Camp. Students from all schools within that zone are eligible to apply to attend.

Host sites for the 2021 Enrichment Camps are:

  • Harbor View Elementary

  • Kaiser Elementary

  • Killybrooke Elementary

  • Pomona Elementary

Students will be grouped by age level and assigned to the host site in the zone of residence. Students currently enrolled in Cloud Campus who wish to attend this in-person program are eligible to apply and will be assigned to the Enrichment Camp site in their zone of residence. If interest exceeds capacity, students will be admitted to Enrichment Camp via a lottery process.
